I’m already itching to get my hands on the seed catologs, so I can start planning for next year!

There are so many things I’d love to grow, if only I had enough sun!

I’ve decided that I’m not going to plant as many tomatoes this year, and we’re not going to plant corn again.

We didn’t have enough time for the peppers (bell, Nepalese, and Hot Portugal), or the pumpkins to ripen, so we’re going to have to figure something out to get them to work better in the garden.

What are you thinking about growing?

When everyone is pulling up their garden, we’re just getting our first fruits.

It can be disappointing.

Unfortunately, as usual, the dogs got in the garden again this year, and most of my plant labels disappeared, so I’m not even sure what I’m eating.

I’ll have to go through the seeds and see if I remember what they were, because one of them, a small red tomato with pale yellow stripes was delicious! Hopefully, I can at least figure out that one was.

We have had some green beans, and a few raspberries, but that’s all we’ve had this year.

The strawberries were eaten before we got to them, so that was pretty disappointing.

So, how is your garden growing?

Is anyone else just getting any produce, or am I the only late one?

What are you planning on doing to prepare the beds for winter?

I’ve seen other people using carriers outside 3-4 times, but that’s it, and that was mostly at outdoor festivals, and once at the local zoo.

When my husband and I are out with our little girl in the carrier, at least one person usually comes up to me and comments on how cute the baby carrier is, how nice it must be to have, that they had one when their kids were young and they loved it, that they wished they had one when their kids were young, or that they know someone who’s having a baby, and they’d love to get one for them.

I’ve had so many people stop and ask me where I got my Mei Tai (I got it with a gift certificate that I won from Regarding Peanut) that I’ve thought I should start carrying their business cards around with me.

But, when I see a mother carrying her child in a carseat, they won’t look at me – in fact, I’ve even had some turn away when I smile at them (this was when we were attending a new church).

We don’t always use our baby carriers, and I certainly don’t judge people who aren’t carrying their babies – unless the babies are screaming/crying and obviously unhappy, and the parents refuse to get them out, but that’s only happened once.

LO gets hot easily, so if it’s too warm she’s usually in the stroller.

There’s also usually a lot of snow and ice on the ground in the winter, so we used the stroller all through the winter so we wouldn’t have to worry about slipping and falling with her – and trust me the year after giving birth I slipped and fell on the ice more than I ever have, so I’m very glad that she was in the stroller, and not where I could hurt her.

I think the wierdest reaction to wearing my daughter, was when someone told me that I was selfish, to keep her in the carrier. But she’s usually happier, and it makes my life easier, especially when she doesn’t want anyone else to hold her, so if they think I’m selfish then that is fine with me.

How do people react when you wear your baby?

Is it common in your area, or does everyone look at you like you’re kind of strange?

What did you think the first time you saw someone else wearing a baby or toddler?

I’ve been subscribed to Giveaway Scout’s emails since I first read about them, and it’s great to have givaways delivered to my inbox.

I’m always hoping I’ll win something great for my little girl … or her mommy .

I was also excited because this is the 50th anniversary edition of the book.

It has been revised and updated, but it’s been fun for me to read the asides in the book, and get a glimpse into life in 1960.

I was also overjoyed when I read the book, and found the recipe for Aunt Bebe’s Bean Bowl – this sounds suspiciously similar to a dish I loved at a cookout last year, only to find out that it was marinated beans from a food service.

I’m really looking forward to trying it, and a few other recipes – like the Fancy Sliced Tomates that I can’t wait to try when my tomotoes are finally ripe.

The I Hate to Cook Book really is a book for people who don’t like to cook, and you don’t have to be a good cook to use it.

I love that the book tells you when you can cook other items in the oven with one dish, and even tells you when to put extra items in the oven, so they’ll be done when dinner is ready.

The “Company’s Coming” and “Lunch for the Girls” chapters provide complete menu’s, so you don’t have to worry that you’ll be missing an important part of the meal when you sit down to dinner.

This book has a lot of great recipes, and useful tips, and I can’t wait to try more of them.
